23:39hendrikThis is the only situation i am aware of that cannot be done nicely in java:
23:40hendrikCasting to a type with a generic parameter.

23:40hendrikThe cast to Map is done at runtime but because of some stupid decisions by Sun, the <String, String> part is lost at runtime.
23:41hendrikThe stupid decision is that they wanted to stay byte code compatible on the VM level.
23:41hendrikBut the later broke that with Enumerations.
23:41hendrikBut they did not went back to do generics in a better way.
23:43hendrikSo other than this, warnings should not be surpressed.
